FULL LIST OF VENDORS BELOW + All the lovely details of the photo shoot on film

Alex Albojer of Life Images, Thadshiga Jayaseelan and Thad Jayaseelan of Dreamers Events, Gaurav Sawhney of CTC West, and Prashanna Jayaseelan of p-your vision and Design 2 Décor teamed up and coordinated a South Asian creative shoot that embodied both western influences and eastern traditions. The inspiration for the creative photo shoot was pulled from the film Tuck Everlasting, a story that captures eternal love; a theme found often in the South Asian culture and films.
Dreamers Events drafted an inspiration board. The team finalized Scotsdale Farm as the location after several site visits. The beautiful barns, plush greeneries and the calm lake swept us all of our feet. The western landscape fit perfectly with the eastern ideas and the details we had in mind.
We started with an engagement shoot that vividly displayed the beauty of the Scotsdale Farm – the old well, the two storey white panel home, the woods and the lake. Against this beautiful background we were able to add lovely details – henna designs (Fresh Inc. Mendhi ), soft peach with floral details sari, and a green 1960 Langford canoe.
Design 2 Decor pulled together a design concept that encapsulated the rustic elements of India mixed in with woodsy details for the ceremony and reception shoot. The paisley prints, rustic orange and brown found played up the South Asian vibe further. The sweet table included Indian sweets, berries, cheese, sugar cane drinks and Turkish sweets. We included in vintage keys and luggage from Hazlitt Vintage Rentals to the décor details.
We teamed up with the talented calligraphist Barbara Kua for stationary details. Barbara crafted beautiful escort card tags with beautiful shimmering purple, gold and green threads. She used natural looking paper for the invitations and carried this look with the place cards. Menu cards included a long list of incredible South Asian dishes.
Gaurav from CTC West brought in his latest fashion pieces, a stunning red and turquoise lengha with intricate thread work and crystals, a gold and white lengha with rustic orange and green details, and an eye-catching blue sherwani. Amplified Soul completed the look with three different makeup and hairstyles for the bride. The incredible team from Garrison Bespoke designed a full plaid suit with a knit tie for our groom. We had such a great time pulling together all the elaborate details of a South Asian affair and fusing it with the Canadian landscape.
