About the FOUNDER
Sadaf H. Kherani is the founder of South Asian Bride, a comprehensive guide for South Asian American Brides. Sadaf Kherani launched South Asian Bride Magazine in 2005 because she saw that the marketplace had a need that was not being met. Simply, she saw that discerning South Asian brides had almost no resources available to help plan their lavish and complex weddings. The term “South Asian” encompasses India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, and the population of U.S. brides whose families hail from these areas is growing by leaps and bounds. In fact, some of the biggest weddings in the U.S. are South Asian. Yet there was no good resource for fashion or decor inspiration, or to help brides find vendors who had experience with their very ornate and complicated multi-day weddings. Sadaf started South Asian Bride as a blog then added a digital magazine and then a print magazine. SAB now hosts luxury bridal shows and industry retreats as well. Over time, she grew South Asian Bride to be a respected comprehensive resource for wedding inspiration, fashion ideas, and wedding vendors. Both the magazine and the blog enjoy a global readership.
Sadaf has a comprehensive and long-term background in media, publishing and event production.
